This work depicts one of the views from the roof of the Chapel of Senhor da Pedra, located on Miramar beach in Vila Nova de Gaia. Through it, we can appreciate the artist's mastery of how to use and represent light, which in this painting is one of the most relevant factors.
From the private collection of a French collector, this painting was part of the exhibition dedicated to the Portuguese artist José Julio de Sousa Pinto (1856-1939) held by Palácio do Correio Velho at the António Cupertino de Miranda Foundation in Porto in 2004.
